End-of-Life Planning
Tender Conversations
With care and sensitivity, The Fifth Season creates space for tender conversations of the heart and soul. At a time when life is drawing closer to its final weeks and months, you are supported to gently clarify your hopes - who and what matters most to you now, what practical threads may need tending, and how to record your wishes for care before, during, and after death.

End-of-life service can include all, or any, part of:
- Supporting meaningful conversations about grief and mortality, life and death, helping you find the right words at the right time - whether reaching out for support or offering it to others - and facilitating whānau conversations, including discussions with children.
- Complementing your medical care by helping you prepare for medical visits, to engage during appointments, and to reflect on the next steps.
- Co-ordinating professional and social support - referrals to agencies or organising help from friends.
- Considering present and future healthcare options, helping you articulate your wishes and approach mortality with understanding, grace, and dignity.
- Taking time to understand and walk alongside you as an advocate and companion, supporting you to face tough, informed decisions aligned with your values and wishes.
- Grief coaching across the whole journey for everyone affected, helping recognise grief and resilience, build personal coping toolkits, reflecting on life experiences, and clarifying priorities and future goals.
- Paperwork: The Advanced Care Plan / Powers of Attorney: ensuring these documents are understood and completed, supporting WINZ applications.
- Holding you gently in your final days, through vigil and support for visitors.
- Care with costs: discussing your cremation, funeral, wake, burial options.
- Legacy and life memories, gently supporting reflection on your legacy and how to write, create, record, make, and preserve life memories.
End-of-life doula support is available at any stage of life. Even if you are well and healthy, you may feel ready to reflect on and plan for your future health and end-of-life care.
You may access my support intermittently seeking it when you need it and stepping back when you don’t. For some people, a few conversations are enough to bring clarity to their thoughts and plans. Check out the FAQs.
