Resources can be found from a wide range of services and agencies including:

  • Who requires support and why? You, a carer, whānau, children?
  • Support groups: Grief/bereavement, cancer care and other groups: face to face meetings and courses.
  • Therapeutic / professional support: doulas (nzdoulas.nz, eldaa.org.nz), counsellors (nzac.org.nz) Free helplines (0800 Lifeline or text HELP 4357)                              
  • Read / research: check out your local library, the MHERC library (Christchurch), Skylight Trust’s library (skylight.org.nz) has an online and postal service                          
  • Online communities: griefity.com, Facebook, grief blogs, podcasts and TED talks (3 Secrets of Resilient People - Dr. Lucy Hone; We Don’t “Move On” from Grief. We Move Forward with It - Nora McInerny)                         
  • Your community supports: GP, church, local groups, hobbies and friends.
